PHOTOPROOF · LAST UPDATED 18 SEPTEMBER 2026

Photoproof has no accounts, no tracking and no advertising. When you check an image it is analysed and then deleted — we keep no copy of it, and nothing you check is used to train anything.

What we collect

Nothing. Photoproof has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, and no advertising. We do not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, or any identifier.

Your photos and camera

The app asks for camera access only when you tap “Open camera”, and for a photo only when you choose one. When you press the button to check an image, that single image is sent over an encrypted connection to our detection provider, analysed, and deleted immediately afterwards. It is not stored by us or by them, is never shown to anyone, and is never used as training data.

We do not receive or keep the image ourselves, and we keep no record of what you have checked.

Who processes your image

Detection is carried out by Sightengine, a content-analysis provider, acting as our processor under GDPR and configured to delete data immediately after processing. Their privacy policy is at sightengine.com/policies/privacy.

What the app stores on your device

The detection model and the app's own files are cached in your browser or app storage so it works offline and starts quickly. Clearing the app's data removes them. Nothing stored is sent anywhere.

Children

Photoproof is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Accuracy

Photoproof reports a statistical estimate, not a certification. A green result means no signs of AI generation were found — not that an image has been verified as authentic. Do not rely on it as sole evidence in any consequential decision.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date above will change with it.
